Rule development is an evolutionary and ongoing process, and one that requires active participation by NFA's membership. The body of sales practice rules that govern how NFA Members conduct business has been developed with direction and input from Advisory Committees composed of NFA Members.
Some NFA Compliance Rules address the general issues of adhering to just and equitable principles of trade and avoiding fraudulent behaviors. Others are more specific and relate to how Members communicate with the public, how they provide disclosure to potential customers and how they supervise their employees. Further discussion of these particular rules can be found by clicking on the links provided above. The most complete presentation of Compliance Rules is found in the NFA Manual on this Web site.
A list of firms that have been Disciplined for Sale Practice Fraud is provided on this Web site. Access to this list is restricted to NFA Members with an Online Registration System (ORS) username and password.
