The following tutorial is a step-by-step look at several sections of the Online Registration System (ORS).
For each section of ORS that is displayed in this tutorial, you will see a picture of an important part of an ORS screen and corresponding text under it. If you still need assistance after viewing the tutorial, contact NFA's Information Center.

The security manager will have complete authority and responsibility to establish and administer all accounts for other Online Registration System (ORS) user accounts. For example, if the user forgets the password, the security manager can reset it or if a user leaves your firm, the security manager must delete the user's account.
Security managers can access the security manager menu from the ORS homepage or from any page in ORS. We recommend that every firm designate two people as security managers (size of the firm permitting).

Within the Security section of ORS, a security manager can

The User List allows the security manager to see who the firm's system users are and to make any modifications to the list as may be needed. The page is divided into two sections, Firm and Application Process. In the firm section, The security manager can select the edit button to make modifications to a persons information, reset passwords or delete users. The application process section, allows the security manager to reset passwords for its applications users with temporary passwords.

On this screen, a security manager can modify the personal information for any existing user or change the security level for the user.

To add a new security user, the security manager will enter the name and some identifying information about the user, e.g., social security number and date of birth, and assign one of four security levels to the user. These levels are View, View and Update; View, Update and File, and Security Manager.
View access means that the user will only be able to view registration information regarding firms and individuals, but will not have the ability to make any updates or changes to that information or to file applications.
View and Update access permits the user to enter information into a registration form. Update users cannot file applications on behalf of the firm although they can file updates.
View, Update and File access provides the user with the ability to file applications to NFA on behalf of the firm.
Security manager access permits the user to create any of the above accounts plus additional security managers. A Security Manager security level enables the individual to view, update and file as well.
ORS will assign a User Name and temporary password for each user the security manager establishes. The user will be prompted to change the password upon logging on to ORS the first time.

The Add Application User screen should only be used to establish a temporary password for an applicant whose user account was deleted. Before using this option, please contact NFA.

NFA accepts electronic payments through ORS. The Online Account Deposit screen enables security managers to transfer funds into the member's prepaid account which will then be used to pay registration fees and/or membership dues.
NFA Members can file many of their required documents electronically.
You can check the registration status and disciplinary history of any futures firm or individual.
