Floor Trader (FT)

A Floor Trader is a person who purchases or sells any futures contracts or options on futures on any contract market or swaps on a contract market or Swap Execution Facility (SEF) for such person's own account.

An FT is required to file the following:

• A completed online Form 8-R
• Fingerprint Cards
• Proof from a contract market or SEF that the person has been granted trading privileges. The contract market or SEF may provide proof after the application has been filed.
• A non refundable Floor Trader Application Fee of $85.00*

A non-natural person Floor Trader (FTF) is required to file the following:

• A completed online Form 7-R
• Proof from a contract market or SEF that the person has been granted trading privileges. The contract market or SEF may provide proof after the application has been filed.
• A non-refundable application fee of $200

In addition, an FTF is required to file the following for its principals and order enterers:

• A completed online Form 8-R for each principal
• A hardcopy Form 8-R for each order enterer
• Fingerprint Cards
• A non refundable application fee of $85.00*

*An application fee is not required if the individual is currently registered with the CFTC in any capacity or is listed as a principal of a current CFTC registrant.
