World Investor Week 2023

NFA held World Investor Week webinar for investors on October 5

The International Organization of Securities Commission's (IOSCO) seventh annual World Investor Week (WIW) was a week-long, global campaign promoted by IOSCO to raise awareness about the importance of investor education and protection. WIW took place from Monday, October 2 through Sunday, October 8, 2023.

As part of WIW, NFA and the CFTC held a free webinar entitled Recent Fraud Trends and Tips for Avoiding Them on October 5, 2023. This webinar covered the key messages of WIW, including:

• Verifying that an investment professional is licensed;
• Researching investment opportunities independently to protect against financial scams;
• Conducting due diligence when considering investments; and
• Recognizing the warning signs of investment fraud.
