NFA hosts 20th anniversary celebration in Washington, DC NFA hosted a reception in honor of the Association's 20th anniversary on May 16th in Washington, DC. More than 360 futures industry leaders, members of Congress, CFTC, SEC and other government agency officials and representatives of the financial media attended the event. The reception was held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sewall-Belmont House, a National Historic Landmark on Capitol Hill. "Because we are subject to government oversight by the CFTC and Congress, our Washington audience is very important to NFA's continued success," says Dan Roth, senior executive vice-president. "This reception was our way of bringing attention to NFA's programs and services and the important role NFA plays in the regulation of the futures markets." NFA also held a media briefing on the morning of the reception. NFA President Robert Wilmouth, Dan Roth and CFTC Chairman James Newsome addressed reporters from major financial media outlets. After giving brief prepared remarks, the three men conducted a question and answer session.
