For Immediate Release October 08, 1999 For more information contact: NFA bars former associated person of Porter Smith & Company, Inc. October 8, Chicago - National Futures Association ordered Angela M. Gershenwald to withdraw from NFA membership and Associate membership and not reapply for a period of six months. Gershenwald was also ordered to tape record all of her solicitations and conversations with customers for one year if she becomes an NFA Member or Associate again. Gershenwald is a former associated person (AP) of Porter Smith & Company, Inc., a former introducing broker NFA Member located in Aventura, Florida. The Complaint issued by NFA's Business Conduct Committee alleged that Gershenwald made sales solicitations to customers which were deceptive and misleading. Gershenwald submitted a settlement offer in which she neither admitted nor denied the allegations in the Complaint. NFA is a congressionally authorized self-regulatory organization for the U.S. futures industry.
