What you'll do:

As a Cybersecurity Examination Specialist you will support NFA's Futures Compliance department's cybersecurity regulatory program. Specifically, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Analyzing and examining firms' information systems security policies and procedures (ISSP) using cybersecurity and information technology (IT) expertise.
  • Determining the appropriateness of firms' ISSPs based on the nature of their operations and risk exposure.
  • Participating in cybersecurity examinations by reviewing firms' security controls to determine compliance with their policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing firm correspondence to identify cybersecurity issues, events or trends and summarizing results that may require further firm action.
  • Clearly and concisely documenting reviews and testing.
  • Communicating findings to firm personnel, including alternatives for corrective action.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a business-oriented major
  • Three to five years of experience conducting security control assessments or IT audits.
  • Working knowledge of common information systems security regulations and standards, such as ISO/IEC 27001 and 27002, FISMA, SANS, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST Special Security Publications and AICPA SOC2
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or similar credential preferred
  • Ability to apply the appropriate level of professional skepticism to assignments
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
