NFA suspends principal of Florida futures firm

December 11, Chicago - National Futures Association has issued a six-year suspension to John Matthews, an associated person (AP) and principal of Protrade Futures & Options, an Introducing Broker located in Aventura, Florida. Matthews was also a former AP and principal of Corporate Commodities Inc (CCI), a former Introducing Broker located in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The Decision, issued by NFA's Business Conduct Committee, is based on charges contained in an NFA Complaint which Matthews had failed to answer.

The Committee found that Matthews, while an AP of Protrade and CCI, made misleading and deceptive statements and used a high-pressure approach in his solicitations of customers. The Committee also found that Matthews failed to adequately supervise Protrade's and CCI's employees.

Matthews is suspended from NFA Membership and associate membership for a period of six-years. During this period, he cannot act in any capacity that requires registration nor act as a principal of an NFA Member.

The complete text of the Complaint and Decision can be found on NFA's Web site (www.nfa.futures.org).
