When you join NFA as a Communications Associate, you'll support NFA's External Affairs & Communications department in executing effective communication initiatives and developing engaging content targeting a variety of audiences.

What you'll do:

As a Communications Associate, you'll be responsible for assisting with NFA's efforts to communicate clearly, succinctly and effectively with various audiences. Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with NFA's recruiting team to develop and maintain external-facing, attractive content and resources that highlight the many benefits of joining NFA's staff.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of NFA's internal communication initiatives, including all-staff calls and meetings, internal web content, newsletters, etc.
  • Assisting with the governance, maintenance and enhancement of NFA's website.
  • Engaging and working in partnership with third-party vendors as appropriate.
  • Assisting in the development and distribution of electronic communications (e.g., press releases, newsletters, etc.) to NFA Members, media and the public as needed.
  • Representing NFA to the public at conferences and other events.
  • Planning, designing and implementing original content for multi-channel communications.
  • Monitoring SEO and user engagement and suggesting content optimization.
  • Researching the latest social media technologies and developments to stay informed of best practices.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field
  • Minimum of one to two years of experience in communications and project management
  • Experience creating original content to increase brand awareness
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and in collaboration with others
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively
  • Strong sense of self-motivation, attention to detail and proactivity
  • Desire to learn and take on new challenges
  • Ability to work effectively with management and staff of all levels
  • Graphic design experience highly preferred
  • Experience with web content management system preferred
  • Experience using data analytics software preferred
