Guidelines for Using NFA Publications in Member Promotional Material

NFA rarely denies requests from Members asking permission to reprint an NFA publication (e.g., "Understanding Opportunities and Risks in Futures Trading" and "Glossary of Futures Terms") in their promotional material (e.g., on a Web site). While we applaud our Members' commitment to providing their customers with the information they need to make informed financial decisions, we have recently seen Member promotional material in which NFA brochures have been edited and in some cases given different titles.

While we permit Members to use our publications, we expect that you use the following guidelines for reprinting NFA material in your promotional material:

  • Any promotional material that contains an NFA publication must also contain the following language: "This publication is the property of National Futures Association".
  • All NFA publications should be printed exactly as they were published by NFA, including any copyright. There should be no changes to the title or content of the publication. To help you comply with this guideline, NFA will provide its publications in a pdf format only.

If you currently have an NFA publication in your promotional material that does not conform to these guidelines, you should remove it immediately. If you have any questions about these guidelines, contact Senior Analyst Michael Mason at (312) 781-1238. If you would like to request an NFA publication for your use, please contact NFA's Communication Specialist Deborah Loehrke at (312) 781-1392.
