Notice I-21-11

March 4, 2021

NFA provides important additional information on fraudulent phishing emails purporting to be from NFA

NFA notified Members yesterday of an ongoing phishing campaign that involves fraudulent emails purporting to be from NFA staff using a source domain name "@nfa-futures.org". Today, we learned that some Members have received a follow-up fraudulent email purporting to be from the same NFA staff member that included an attachment. The attachment, if opened, links to another website that requests the Member employee to provide their email password. Members should be aware that NFA would not request personal information, such as passwords, via email.

NFA reminds Members to continue to closely scrutinize the sender's address on all emails and to immediately delete all emails originating from the domain "@nfa-futures.org". All legitimate emails from NFA will come from an address ending in @nfa.futures.org, nfanotifications@mailer.nfa.org or @nfa-swaps-proficiency-requirements.moonami.com in the case of NFA's Swaps Proficiency Requirements.

If you have any questions on this Notice, please contact NFA's Information Center (312-781-1410 or 800-621-3570 or information@nfa.futures.org).
