National Futures Association broadens investor education program with launch of quarterly newsletter

January 10, Chicago - National Futures Association (NFA) announced today that it has developed an electronic newsletter for individuals who trade futures, options on futures and off-exchange foreign exchange (forex) products. Individuals can subscribe to receive the quarterly newsletter free of charge on NFA's Web site (www.nfa.futures.org).

"NFA believes that investor protection begins with investor education," says NFA's Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Communication Karen Wuertz. "This newsletter will provide investors with information they need to better understand both the opportunities and the risks inherent in trading these products and avoid becoming victims of fraudulent activity."

The inaugural edition of the newsletter also contains links to other investor education resources and a list of NFA Member firms and individuals that NFA has taken enforcement actions against during the 4th quarter of 2006.

In addition to the Investor Newsletter, NFA publishes educational brochures, including "Opportunity and Risk: An Educational Guide to Trading Futures and Options on Futures" and "Trading in the Retail Off-Exchange Foreign Currency Market: What Investors Need to Know". Individuals can view and download all of the brochures in the Investor Learning Center section of NFA's Web site (www.nfa.futures.org) or request a free copy of the brochures by calling NFA's Information Center toll-free at 800-621-3570.

NFA is the premier independent provider of innovative and efficient regulatory programs that safeguard the integrity of the derivatives markets.
