NFA takes emergency enforcement action against commodity trading advisor Jonathan Parker

July 30, Chicago—National Futures Association (NFA) announced today that it has taken an emergency enforcement action against Jonathan Parker (Parker), an NFA Member commodity trading advisor (CTA) located in Woodstock, Ga. This action was taken to protect Parker's customers since NFA believes that he has been operating as an unregistered commodity pool operator (CPO). In addition, Parker has failed to produce books and records and cooperate with NFA.

Due to Parker's failure to cooperate, NFA is unable to determine what Parker did with the approximately $400,000 that he claims to have collected from pool participants, how many pool participants exist, and how much Parker collected in total.

Effective immediately, Parker is prohibited from disbursing or transferring any customer funds without NFA's prior approval and is suspended from NFA membership.

This action will remain in effect until such time as Parker has demonstrated to the satisfaction of NFA that he is in complete compliance with all NFA Requirements.

Parker may request a hearing before NFA's Hearing Committee.

The complete text of the emergency action is available on NFA's website.

The following Compliance staff members are responsible for this case: NFA Compliance Manager Erin Walls (312-781-1486) and NFA Compliance Field Supervisor Roslyn Bitterman (312-781-1888).
