NFA Board appoints Carol Wooding as new General Counsel
February 16, Chicago—NFA's Board of Directors approved the appointment of Carol Wooding as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at its February 16, 2017 meeting in Chicago. Ms. Wooding will assume the General Counsel's duties from Thomas Sexton, who will serve as NFA's President and CEO beginning March 1, 2017.
"Carol has a deep understanding of the regulatory issues facing the derivatives markets," says NFA General Counsel Thomas Sexton. "She has years of experience developing rules and implementing effective regulatory programs to ensure market integrity and enhance customer protection. With her extensive experience in derivatives regulation and her demonstrated leadership abilities, Carol is well prepared to address the issues facing NFA and the industry."
Ms. Wooding began her legal career in 1991 as an NFA staff attorney and was subsequently promoted to Assistant General Counsel in 1998 and to Associate General Counsel in 2010.
Ms. Wooding holds a law degree from Loyola University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from DePaul University.
