NFA fines Minnesota futures broker $25,000
May 24, Chicago - National Futures Association has issued a $25,000 fine against Trevor G. Cook, an Associated Person at Bradley Kimo Salhus, an Introducing Broker located in Apple Valley, Minnesota. Formerly, Cook was an Associate of Reserve Financial Services, Inc. (d/b/a Private Financial Group, an Introducing Broker Member of NFA) located in Plymouth, Minnesota. In addition to the fine, Cook may not be associated with an NFA Member unless Cook's sponsor agrees in writing to tape record all conversations that occur between Cook and both existing and potential customers for a period of nine months.
The Decision, issued by an NFA Hearing Committee, found that Cook materially inflated a customer's financial information on her account opening documents. As a result, Cook opened multiple accounts that, through notional funding, traded values equal to most, if not all, of her net worth.
Cook may appeal the Decision to NFA's Appeals Committee within 15 days. The complete text of the Decision can be found on NFA's Web site (www.nfa.futures.org).
